Chicago, IL – April 2nd, 2019:
Rocket Wagon Venture Studios (RWVS), a start-up venture studio focused on building IoT companies, is pleased to announce that Andrew Rachmiel has joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Development.
Andy is a versatile entrepreneur who began his career as a CPA with a Masters in Information Technology. After gaining several years of experience in public accounting and information systems, he co-founded his first company focused on big data analytics software and implementation services and, as an IBM Premier Partner, developed a commercial software application for IBM customers around the globe.
After the successful sale of his company in 2012 to Avnet Inc. he went on to create, advise and hold leadership roles in several early stage companies. Andy also co-founded several investment vehicles created to fund start-ups in the Chicagoland area and has served as Board President in a Chicago non-profit literacy organization.
Andy brings to Rocket Wagon Venture Studios experience in building and growing great teams, strong functional and technical leadership experience and skills, financial and backend system integration expertise, and executive and board-level accountability. Through his entrepreneurial roles over the last fifteen years, Andy had driven product management and product development for eCommerce product and services, websites, mobile, desktop and web applications, as well as business development, sales and marketing and professional services.
In addition, he has experience in capital raising through equity, convertible debt and traditional financing as an officer in early stage companies. Andy has also been instrumental in numerous M&A transactions.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such an amazing team of accomplished people across a wide variety of disciplines,” said Andy Rachmiel. “Rocket Wagon Venture Studios combines the experience and discipline of a strong leadership team and board with the culture of a fast-paced, bleeding edge start-up. The Internet of Things is the next big technological revolution, and RWVS is well positioned among the innovative companies paving its path.”
Andy will be working across all vertically aligned IoT studios in the Rocket Wagon Venture Studio family, coordinating corporate initiatives, investing efforts, and funding and M&A activities related to entrepreneurs exiting studios upon commercialization.
Don DeLoach, CEO of RWVS, said: “I’ve gotten to know Andy over the past few years and have admired all that he has accomplished in his career to date. As a serial entrepreneur himself, Andy brings a wealth of start-up and early stage experience to the table, which aligns to the heart of the venture studio model. As we build out our suite of vertical IoT studios and partner with companies from the idea stage to either Series A funding or outright sale, Andy will play an important role in mentoring, helping to drive consistent process and ultimately drive high value for all participating entrepreneurs.”
